On January 3, 2007, the parish of St. Nino in Barcelona was founded and Igumen Luka (Palavandishvili) was appointed its leader.
School Staff

On January 3, 2007, the parish of St. Nino in Barcelona was founded and Igumen Luka (Palavandishvili) was appointed its leader.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Abraham (Garmelia) of the Diocese of Western Europe, on December 25, 2007, on the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, a large event was held at St. Schools.
Archimandrite Luka (Palavandishvili), President of the Georgian Orthodox Association “St. George”, was founded in 2010. The presentation was held at the office of the “Friends of Barcelona UNESCO”.
Founded in 2016 in “Georgian Community Catalonia” – President Giorgi Metreveli.
In 2017, the “Center for Spirituality, Education, and Culture” was established – headed by Archimandrite Luka (Palavandishvili).
There are currently 146 children in our school and the number of students is gradually increasing.
The names of the groups are:

Under the leadership of Archimandrite Luka (Palavandishvili), the Georgian Sunday School of St. Antimos Iveriel in Barcelona has been educating young emigrants living abroad as true Georgians for 13 years, instilling in them a love of homeland and return to their homeland, a strong desire to return to education.
The school has been raised for several generations and is also the winner of many projects and competitions.
Since 2017, Sunday School has been involved in the American Primary Education Literacy Project (G-PRIED), and now Sunday School is moving to a “new school model.”
The school is staffed by professional teachers who do their best to introduce and love the next generation born abroad and to love their mother tongue, homeland, language, homeland, and religion.
The school is the winner of the grant program “Support to Diaspora Initiatives” by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia entitled “Another Georgia” and “Children are our future”.
Due to the current situation, the school works online and will continue teaching in this area if necessary.
There have already been some interesting online engagements-meetings with prominent people, the National Center for Manuscripts, as well as some interesting meetings planned.
The following artistic-creative circles function together with the school:
1. Study of Georgian polyphonic chants – supervisor Irakli Devdariani;
2. Music Studio “Gamma” – Head Maia Gubeladze;
3. Georgian Folk Dance Studio “Kartvelo” – headed by Giorgi Zirakashvili;
4. Drawing circle “My Art” – head Ekaterine Sikharulidze;
5. Study of Georgian folk instruments – head Ioseb Shinjikashvili;
6. Georgian Calligraphy Circle – Head Marine Tsikoradze;
7. Piano Circle – Head Maia Gubeladze;
8. Performing Arts and Speech Culture – Supervisor Demna Amaglobeli.
Cultural and educational activities are led by the “Center for Spirituality, Education and Culture” congregation”.
The Center seeks, mobilizes, and promotes resources in the spiritual, educational, and cultural spheres.
Every important issue is discussed and resolved at the meeting.
All teachers and heads of artistic creative circles are members of the Center.
The Center for Spirituality, Education, and Culture activities are carried out by the Georgian Community of Catalonia and the St. George Georgian Orthodox Association.
The head of the center is the head of the “St. Nino” parish in Barcelona, the founder, and president of the “St. George” Georgian Orthodox Association, co-founder and vice-president of the “Georgian Community Catalonia”: Archimandrite Luka (Palavandishvili).
